Gazprom increased by 40% Gas Prices for Europe


Consortium gas company Gazprom would raise gas prices to Europe by 40% (350-500 dollars per thousand cubic meters). Usually, the price of Russian gas to European consortium is four times more expensive than Brent brand, which totaled $120. Generally, Gazprom takes between 6 and 9 months following the trend increase in Brent, so the increase in gas to European consumers could be real, analyst following. In addition, as sudden increase in the price of Gazprom could qualify for the decline of demand in Europe, estimated Korchemkin Mikhail, head of the company’s Eastern European Gas Analysis, was quoted by Russian daily.
